Lots of Fun

This has been a fun but busy week! My dad was out of town this week for football camp at Gold Beach so I spent quite a bit of time with my mom and sister. We went out to dinner both Monday and Tuesday nights with fellow coaches' families. It was nice for me to get out since Jeremy works such long hours these days.

As always, Jeremy has been working a lot at OHSU and then spending hours meeting with people and on the phone for our personal business after work. This weekend is bound to be very productive too. Tomorrow (Sat.) we are having the extra dirt from Jeremy's parents' lot brought over so that we can build up our yard. Then Sunday, we are cleaning out and organizing our garage. yippeee!! Can't wait to be able to park my car inside and have everything in its place.

Also, good news Kristina! Our bedroom in the basement is also supposed to be cleaned out so that Jeremy can get to work putting the room together for you! We still need to finish the trim, casing around the closet, and the closet doors need to be installed. Then, I can paint all of the trim and it should be good to go!

I think that is all for now. I'm just hanging out at home. Jer is down at Old Fashioned Festival working. Since he's a volunteer firefighter, he had to work the festival and will be down there from 6-12 tonight. I'll try to update again throughout the weekend as we accomplish some stuff around the house and have some fun with friends.

Not much to report...

Well, there isn't a whole lot of exciting activity to report from the last two weeks. Jeremy has been working hard at both his job and with his business. I've been spending my time cleaning and doing small projects around the house. Last week I had coffee with an old friend from high school who I had hardly seen or talked to since we graduated. It was great to see her and catch up. Exciting future plans include: going to the beach with my family, spending our 2nd anniversary at the beach, and going to a friend's wedding.

Updates on the House

Well, our laundry room is coming along. I spent some time last week painting the new shelf that Jeremy installed in the laundry room. Here are some BEFORE pics.

Obviously it's messy, but that's because I had already taken everything off of the shelf...I swear it was messy, but not this messy before!

And the AFTER shot! I just need to purchase a few more orange boxes from the Container Store, drapes and a curtain rod, and get Jer to finish the backsplash and build the platform for the washer and dryer.

And here's the ikea ironing board from college that I used as the inspiration for the orange accent color. I really love how this room is coming together and am glad that we're one step closer to being done with it!

Next up is the Family room. I finally purchased the rug from Target that I had been eyeing since we moved in. I also got two blue pillows to match. I am in LOVE with the aqua color.

Last but not least, Dad and I stained both of our decks this last week. They look great, and I don't have to worry any more about the sun bleaching out the boards! I didn't take any close-up pics, so this will have to do.

I ordered the invites for our house warming open house/bbq today so I'm looking forward to getting those and having people over to see the house. Hope you all had a great 4th of July! We had fun on the river, at the pool, and the drive-in.

June in Review

Well, since I totally slacked the month of June, it's about time I do a review of June. We had a very busy, but awesome month of June! First up was McKenzie's graduation.

My little sister graduated from high school and we are all sooo very proud of her and everything that she accomplished her four years at NHS. I'm looking forward to having another lute in the family, as she has chosen to go to PLU next year!

My grandparents were in town from Colorado for two weeks to help celebrate Kenzie's graduation. It was great to see them and have them around for such a long time. :) Here are some pics from graduation. We were able to sit in the press box with the Anderson family (family friends). One of the perks to having a Dad who is a football coach! ;) In the first pic, you can see Kenze (she's the furthest right of the graduates) And the second pic is just a cool one of quite a few of the kids.

After graduation, the festivities began with attending graduation parties. We had three coach's kids graduate this year (leaving just one left to go!) so we went to those parties. It was a good time with friends and LOTS of good food.

Me and Kenze before her party began.

I was able to spend one whole day with my grandparents at the beach. It was really fun...I love going to the beach any chance I get and it was fun to go exploring with the grandparents. We made it to Cannon Beach, Seaside, a Lewis and Clark museum, and Astoria.

Jeremy's business has really taken off this summer and we are really thankful for that. He has our brother-in-law, Ben, and a good friend, Zack, working with him and they are busy all the time. They are really great people, and hard-workers, and we both really trust them so the arrangement has been working out quite well. Here's a pic of one of the projects before it was finished.

Towards the end of June, we headed to California to celebrate Jeremy's Grandpa's 90th birthday. It was the first time that I met most of the family and we had a great time. We stayed with Jer's cousin Ryan and his wife, Kristina. We really enjoyed our time with them! As you can see from the picture below, I was well taken care of after Jeremy left me behind! Not sure I mentioned it earlier, but Jer had to leave on Sunday b/c of work and I stayed until Tuesday. It wasn't a problem though because I enjoyed my time with Kristina and the rest of the family.

I came home to find baby raccoons in one of the trees in our backyard one morning. I got some great pics from our family room window. Here you can see the little guy hugging the tree. So Cute!! I just hope they make their way down the creek so that we don't have to deal with adult raccoons!

That just about hits the highlights of June. We spent quite a few nights with family and friends and are looking forward to an awesome July!
